A request came to our site from Denise's college roommate, Beverly. She did not want Denise to be only a name on a list, and asked if we would be willing to post her tribute in memory of Denise.
"Denie’s joyful spirit and giving ways were a light in the lives of all who knew her. Intelligent and vivacious, she was beautiful inside and out. She was always inquisitive, searching, learning and sharing new information and experiences with her friends. A great writer, she captured the essence of those she interviewed in a few words. She had a way of getting to the heart of things and to sharing her generous heart with all around her. She made a difference in this world and she is dearly missed, but her memory shines on."

We were very close in 7th or 8th grade. We fantasized about becoming doctors and building a hospital. We drew elaborate pictures of the hospital that we would build. It's a happy memory for me. She was a good friend.

Thanks for sharing this his. 'Dennie' and I became good friends when we were seniors. She had a good heart, and she smart and talented. About 15+ years ago she called me out of the blue. She shared with me that she had health issues. She wanted to thank me for being a friend and being an inspiration to her. Now I know she was sayIng goodbye.
