Alan was a cool dude. It made me sad to hear about the 'humming' story'. I always felt like I let Al down, we were going to wear our PJ tops to school and I figured he wouldn't, so I didn't, and he did. We laughed. I felt good, and still do, when Coach Ron 'Porky' Crawford gave Al his varsity letter and told me to take a hike. Al dug the letter and I had little desire for an N, since I was pretty used to letters lower down the chain like C, D and F. Al, I hope you lived free and still are.
